OK - I booked a last minute flight yesterday for Monday - flight was full and only middles available & F0. So I grabbed the best middle. Last night checked the seat map and found a better middle so moved but also put an EF alert on for all aisles and exit rows. Just got an alert on an aisle so went to grab it. When I did, the app had me in seat 4B (F). ...? So I opened the seat map and it showed all the coach seats, not F. Selected and saved the aisle (on the website). Seat map was (and still is) full for F so I didn't want to leave it and get totally screwed with no seat. So why was my seat showing as 4B? EF shows F0 Y1 so it's going to be packed.

Got my first flight on the A339 in less than a month. Ive flown vs upper class quite a few times but always on the 789, so Im familiar with the service. Ive also flown delta one on the A339 quite a few times so Im familiar with the seat, which I know is pretty similar.
My questions are as follows:
1. Do row 1 window seats have a larger footwell (like in D1)?
2. Would you pick those or pay $400 for the retreat suite? If helpful this is a daytime LHR-SEA. Im traveling alone.
3. If I go for a retreat suite, would you suggest 1D or 1G?
4. As a delta diamond can I potentially be upgraded for free at the airport?

thanks!

...25+ years of which were at Gold or GGL

Yes, the time has come. I have 4 BA long-hauls booked still to fly, and then that will be it – for a while.

Why? Not the crew, not the lounge product (CCR remains excellent, the First Wing does its job), not seat comfort per se, not the [Executive] Club changes. BA gets a pass on all of that.

What I need is an airline that is consistent and reliable where it actually counts. And on the routes I fly, the last 6-12 months have been unacceptable. For context: I fly long-haul heavily – once or twice roundtrip across the Atlantic per month (with additional trips to Africa), typically in a mix of Club World and WTP, with the odd First thrown in.

My needs on a plane are not huge

1. Good routes/timetable/punctuality

2. Comfortable seat that works

3. Ability to work on plane (which means both working power and wifi)

4. Functioning IFE

5. Edible food

6. Adequate service

1, 5 & 6 are fine. But 2-4 have consistently shown some issue on >70% of the flights I have flown in the last 12 months (including 8 out of the last 11). Biggest sources of problems are:

IFE – either with old/non-functioning/cracked touchscreens, or audio that only works in one (or zero) channels, with the extra occasional treat of loud static to deafen me.

In-seat power – on a large proportion of the planes it either doesn’t work at all, or only works for a phone and not a laptop (the green light – if ever on – just goes off when I plug in my MacBook); sometimes even a phone makes it fail. I work on planes, and especially if I am connecting, I don’t have time to – and should not have to – recharge before I get back on another plane.

Broken and subpar seats – shabby, poorly maintained, often dirty: sometimes just falling apart with some nice rough plastic edges to cut yourself on in the dark; sometimes not fixed (or even cleaned) over a two week period (flew the same plane on different occasions). On my latest flight from JNB – LHR – I scotch-taped the seat back together myself, where the side had cracked and was digging into my thigh.

And whilst I have encountered issues on a wide variety of planes, it’s particularly on BA’s old 777s and 380s (which are unfortunately the regular equipment on the routes I am on). This has frequently and materially affected either the comfort of the flight, or my ability to do work. Feedback to BA onboard has elicited sympathy and sometimes a shrug of the shoulders, offline platitudes and some Avios, but actually I just want a hard product that works as it is intended and marketed.

If every airline on my routes had the same problems, I’d accept it and move on. But they don’t – none of them – come close to BA’s level of hard product failure. That includes United, operating its otherwise even more ancient 767-300s. If United can keep its seats taped together without passengers having to do it themselves, and its electronics functioning, BA has no excuse. So: I’ll fly out my remaining 4 bookings, and then I’m done – I am fortunate to have options on the routes I typically fly. Happy to revisit down the line when/if BA gets around to maintaining its planes – but I’m not holding my breath.

I recently booked a rental on the Enterprise UK site (for a car in the US.)

When I did, the sliders where you add damage waiver and supplementary liability protection on the US site were greyed out and marked included.

However, when I picked up the car I was told no insurance at all included so needed to buy some. The quote was "if you crash, you'll owe us 50k." It doubled the cost. I immediately did a dummy booking and screenshot the relevant page as proof the UK site says insurance is included as described above.

What's the best way to resolve this? Called customer service and they want proof but didn't know how I could get that to them.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

An atrium style, 1 year old Courtyard somewhat near Camp Humphreys, Osan Air Base and Samsung Electronics' semiconductors plants.

A 20 min drive to Camp Humphreys' Anjungri Gate. I would probably recommend staying on post if the Lodge has availability because taxi costs to and from post will add up quickly.

They don't give Platinums free breakfast or free swimming pool usage here either. This still causes a big backlash among Korean Bonvoy members. Only 4 suites along with 210 rooms.

People will recognize a lot of elements and F&B outlets borrowed from JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square (same ownership group).

I've just done BKK-DXB-MAN, in first flex and then business flex plus, upgraded to First with miles.

I'm sure that when I was booking there was some offer mentioned on the return business flights that I chose which meant I earned bonus Tier Miles on the return leg. In my mind I was going to earn about 14k miles vs the 11k standard. That drove me to choose a slightly higher ticket price.

However, at least one day in, only the standard tier point miles have posted, and a few quick clicks around the mobile app didn't show a similar offer. The ticket had a few changes made to it beyond the upgrade due to the airspace changes, so I could see how that underlying bonus could be lost.

Two questions
1. Have I imagined those bonus Tier Miles? Or if not, where does it show on your ticket or reservation?
2. When would those normally post? I.e. If they didn't post immediately should I raise a ticket or wait.

I wouldn't typically care that much on EK, but I'm now 100 Tier Miles short of a Gold upgrade.

TIA,

Hello,

Over the past 3 months, with quite a bit of travel, Ive run into the usual issuesdelayed baggage, flight delays, even being charged for checked bags despite status.

I submitted multiple claims via the Air France website, but nothing has progressed. Its now been over 2 months, and each time I log in, the claim status simply refreshes to received with the previous days date.

Phone agents havent been able to help, and WhatsApp has led nowhere either.

At this point, I feel like Im effectively providing Air France with an interest-free loan

Has anyone found an effective way to get these claims moving? Or is it simply better to go straight to a third-party service?

Thanks in advance.

Any thoughts on impact to UA? I've read the aircraft are all leased and Kirby has said their used aircraft refits from China did not go swimmingly well, so I don't see a potential fleet impact.
How about gates? For example at FLL Spirit's gates were adjacent to UA.

A bit off topic but I hope the industry can easily absorb the rank and file employees who will lose their jobs.
